DE 756 Dietmann Pianoforte with stool. Serial number: 11029. This piano was manufactured in South Africa, in the mid 1980's. The Dietmann factory built many of South Africa's now well-known brands of piano, like Otto Bach. These Dietmann pianos seem to be of a higher than usual quality to the other brands. This is the ever-popular Queen Anne leg model, in quite an unusual walnut finish, most were mahogany. It has 88 keys, with a medium to heavier touch weight preferred by more serious players, and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are: a height of 103 cm, a width of 147 cm and a depth of 58 cm.

It has a spectacular monastic-style, rosewood casing, inlays on the panels and even candle-holders. This is the only such styled example of this renowned make we have had, it's certainly a very rare collector’s piece. The condition is phenomenal considering it's great age, and is original in terms of polish, ivories and so on. It is truly special. quality. German pianos
are rare on our market, especially post-war, later models like this. Ibach is one of the most historic and renowned German piano builders. The piano is fitted with a Renner action. The quality of a piano like this surpasses expectations. It shows in the attention to detail and wonderful sound and touch. It has a very compact design, with a richer tone than one would expect from a small piano, and an unusually light colour walnut casing make it aesthetically pleasing as well. A lovely thing! The piano has 88 keys, with a heavier touch as sought by many students and teachers, and 3 pedals. Please note though that the sostenuto/practice pedal rail inside is operated by hand. DE 697 Petrof Upright Pianoforte and stool. Serial number 75799. It was built in then Czechoslovakia in 1965. Petrof is an extremely old and we'll established piano maker of great repute. We see very few in South Africa and they are always sought after. This one is something rather special, especially when looking at the linear veneering in its mahogany casing. It has 88 keys; a medium, firmer touch; two pedals and a wonderfully rounded tone with a depth seldom heard on non-European made instruments.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 575.00.
Sale price: R 45 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 736 Rolex Upright Pianoforte with stool. Serial number 20742. Rolex, built by the Nigashi-Nihon factory of Japan. Designated the Rolex-Royal, model KP-33, this lovely piano must be the flagship model in their range as it's a full size upright with a clearly expensive build and finish. As far as we can deduce, it was probably made in the early 2000 s, only because there is a 2007 certificate with it, listed as a second hand piano sold. The casing is very unusual for a newer piano with much detail; the high gloss finish is superb. We see no reason this piano couldn't be favourably compared to anything else on the market. It is almost like an old German piano in a modern case with an unused action. Furthermore, it is fitted with Renner hammers, which denotes the best quality on any piano. It is really lovely. The piano has 88 keys, with a medium to firm touch, and 3 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are: a height of 132 cm, a width of 156 cm and a depth of 63 cm.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 850.00.
Sale price: R 52 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 719 Rönisch Upright Pianoforte with stool. Serial number: 28136. This piano was built in Dresden, Germany between the years of 1895-1900, likely 1898. It is in an unbelievably original and cared-for state. It exudes quality and its burr walnut casing has a glowing patina. Pianos like this are extremely difficult to find. This is a collector's piece not only for its condition, quality or aesthetic appeal, but also because it is a superb piano in terms of tone, touch and usability. The dimensions of this piano are: a height of 126 cm, width of 151 cm and a depth of 62.5 cm.
Hire price: launch price of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 600.00.
DE 774 Sandner Upright Pianoforte and stool. Although manufactured in China, it is bristling with notifications accentuating the German involvement and parts used. This piano is as new. Bought for a daughter who did not proceed to use it after her first year which explains the absolutely unused condition of the piano
. The high gloss ebony casing is, as far as we can see, perfect. It is a very impressive looking instrument and is tall, at 126 cm high, which gives it great presence and a powerful tone - a strong tone with a pleasant lack of tinniness one might expect. The gloss black casing with accents in burr walnut and brass, it's really quite a statement. The touch is extremely smooth and consistent with a medium to heavier weight which should suit more serious students and pianists alike. This piano has 88 keys and 3 pedals. The width is 153 cm and the depth 62 cm.
Hire price: a launch charge of R2150.00 and a monthly charge of R750.00.
Sale price: R60 000.00 (incl. VAT).
JAE 608 Schiedmayer and Sohne Upright Pianoforte with matching stool. Serial number: 54091. Built in 1952 in Stuttgart, Germany, this beautiful piano is a great example of a later model German piano, with all of the quality one could expect. It is extremely difficult to find a better choice than this sort of remarkable quality piano, especially in such a very un-used state.
As people don't generally know many piano brands, this type of instrument is often overlooked which is a travesty as it is superior to the makes people do largely recognise. It really is worth viewing our Piano Gallery range of Schiedmayer Pianos (owned or previously owned by Eshelby Pianos) as they are so varied in appearance and all have such obvious consideration to detail.
Mahogany cased, this piano is highly attractive with Queen Anne legs, decorated frames and additional details like the carved wood at the edges of the keys. It has a wonderfully rich and rounded tone as only a high-quality German piano offers - the smooth sound that merges with the natural environment.
This piano has 88 keys with a heavier weight providing excellent practice touch for someone looking to develop technique. The naturals are ivory clad. It has 3 pedals. The piano's dimensions are a height of 115 cm; a width of 148.5 cm and a depth of 58 cm.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 550.00.
DE 735 Scheidmeyer and Soehne Upright Pianoforte with matching stool. Serial number 449/32 950. In a walnut re-polished case, this piano has a lovely carving in a frame on its front panel. It was built in around 1912, and is of a wonderful, quality, with great attention to detail in its manufacture. This piano really is quite special, with a magnificent brighter and lively tone. It has 85 keys, with a medium to lighter touch, and 2 pedals. This piano's dimensions are: height of 130 cm, width of 151 cm and depth of 64 cm.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 450.00.
This piano is not for sale.
DE 773 Steiner Upright and stool. Serial number 172849. We strongly suspect this piano to be an Eastern European made piano and then relabelled Steiner, probably made well into the 2000's. In extremely new condition, it is a nice quality piano in an extremely desirable aesthetic. The tone is pleasantly lively without harshness. The piano has 88 keys - with a medium touch weight - and 3 pedals. Its dimensions are a height of 104 cm, a width of 145 cm and a depth of 54.5 cm.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 550.00.
Sale price: R38 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 751 Steinway and Sons Upright
Pianoforte with stool. This compact piano has a walnut casing and is designed in the Art Deco style. Even though it is a smaller piano it still has a remarkable tone and on the piano it states that it has an acceerated action and one can really feel this in its very quick response. This is a proper, professional, premier standard of piano that would suit any player.
Hire price: a launch charge of R 3 500.00 followed with a monthly charge of R 1 500.00.
Sale price: R 140 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 791 Steinway and Sons upright piano and stool.
Serial number: 291307. Model Z Steinways are extremely scarce. This Model Z Steinway was built in Hamburg, Germany in 1938.This is often considered the Golden Age of piano building, the time, effort and expense attached to instruments of this period is unsurpassed. The quality of design, materials and craftsmanship has surely never been exceeded. This remarkably modern-looking and compact Steinway is something special! Smaller German Steinways are especially rare in South Africa, and this clean design in gloss black (re-polished October 2019) is superb. The phrase "quality speaks for itself " has never been truer. The piano somehow draws one to it. A typical Steinway touch, on the heavier side, with an amazing action make this a consideration for any serious player. It has a wonderful, rich medium tone range with lots of potential for expression. The piano has 88 keys, with the naturals in original ivory, and 2 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a: height of 115 cm; width of 150.5 cm and depth of 60.5 cm.

Sale price: R95 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 699 Yamaha Upright Pianoforte with stool. Serial number: D1978634.

The model U1 Yamaha is generally considered to be one of the best upright pianos for teaching and studios: the professional quality upright. The piano is in original condition and is quite unusual in this darker walnut case. The tone is typical of an older Yamaha being richer and more mellow if compared to modern examples. The piano has 88 keys, with a medium weight touch, and 3 pedals. The dimensions are: a height of 121 cm; a width of 150,5 cm and a depth of 63 cm.

DE 706 Yamaha Upright Pianoforte with stool. Serial number: B 165801. This piano was manufactured in Japan and has what is referred to as an 'American Walnut' finish - a light, walnut casing. The touch of the 88-note keyboard is a medium to heavier weight, ideal for most needs. The piano has 3 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are a height of 107 cm, width of 147 cm and a depth of 56.5 cm.

DE 755 Yamaha Upright Pianoforte and stool. Serial number: D3082153. This Model M1J was manufactured in Japan in 1980. The piano is a high quality and smaller model Yamaha. It would have been an expensive piano from the Yamaha range, as cheaper options were being offered at the time.
Purchased from one of our Country's best known opera singers, it was used for pitch purposes during singing lessons, so may have helped nurture many more singers.
The piano has an American walnut, satin finish. The tone is pleasantly lively, not overly bright as one would expect in an earlier model Yamaha. It has 88 keys - with medium to heavier touch - and 3 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are: a height of 108 cm, a width 148 cm and a depth 54 cm.
Hire price: a launch charge of R 2150.00 and a monthly charge of R 825.00 for the first eight months.
Sale price: R 42 500.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 758 Yamaha Upright Pianoforte and stool. Serial number: M3514417. This model U1 piano was manufactured in Japan, in 1982. The U1 Yamaha has an amazing reputation and is considered the Professional standard upright piano. This one is particularly good. It has a hammer containing a blue underfelt, which appears to be a special range, and the serial number beginning ""M", which from the many U1's we've seen, this indicates that it has an especially rich tone, which many similar pianos lack, for being a bit tinny. The high gloss, mahogany casing makes it even
better as few people realise the additional cost of a wood-finish piano when compared to black, as veneers have to be prepared and matched and the finish needs to be perfect, whereas in black finishes these details are not important. The condition is virtually as-new. The soft-pedal packing block hadn't even been removed, which must show the lack of use the piano has had... These pianos are really difficult to find and sell unbelievably well at ever increasing values. This piano has 88 keys and 3 pedals. The dimensions of this piano are: a height of 121 cm, width of 150.5 cm and a depth of 61 cm.
Hire price:launch charge of R 3 500.00 and monthly charge of R 1 400.00.
Sale price: R 85 000.00 (incl. VAT).
DE 775 Yamaha Upright and stool. Serial Number 700641; Model No. M2. This Yamaha was manufactured in Japan. It is unusual because it is a Console model as well as being finished in a white pearlescent wrap. This is the first wrapped piano we have seen and it certainly makes a statement with the shimmering finish. In lovely and internally original condition, this rare model gives the aesthetic appeal of a stylish piano with the universal appeal of a Yamaha piano, which are usually very plain in style, whilst retaining the typically brighter, cheerful Yamaha tone. The piano has 88 keys, with a medium to heavier touch weight and 3 pedals. Its dimensions are a height of 108 cm, a width of 150 cm and a depth of 58 cm.
Hire price: launch charge of R 2 150.00 and monthly charge of R 900.00.
Sale price: R 58 000.00 (incl. VAT).
